Best of Weightless Chronicles 2015

Best of Weightless Chronicles

365 days, 25 blog posts, 8 speaking events, 3 coaching clients. How do you measure a year?

As you say goodbye to 2015, do you look at your numbers? Or, do you find meaning in something else?

Here at Weightless, it has been an amazing year full of opportunities, connections, and growth. It has also been one of the most challenging personal years I have ever experienced. Not only did I have some tensions in my house, but I also gained some weight as I try to manage my day job, my business and my family. I never promised that sustaining weight loss it easy, especially when you go through personal struggles.

Like all of you, I went through some seasons in life that impacted not just how I eat and move, but also how I feel. As an emotional eater, I was dismayed to find that stress caused me to eat more and sleep less.

All is not lost, though. Weight maintenance is not a destination, it is a journey. It is a journey I share with you, so you can stop feeling bad if you aren’t progressing as fast or as long as you anticipated. This year, I was fortunate to share in the weight loss journey with some new private coaching clients. I am humbled and honored by their trust in not just the process, but also my coaching.

This blog post is a tribute and special thank you to all of my friends, fans, and followers. This post includes the top highlights of 2015.

Top 5 Blog Posts

My blog has evolved from a weekly 300-word article to a monthly 1000 word article and back to bi-weekly. Along the way, I discovered how to incorporate more SEO, include shareable options like “click to tweet” and promote pins on Pinterest.

Despite these new techniques, the best blog posts were the ones where I got really vulnerable. I love writing, but I have a really hard time sharing my vulnerabilities (you know, like gaining weight as a health coach).

In 2016, expect to see more posts like these top 5. Also, I will maintain a monthly blog post schedule as I work on launching some new programs.

Top 3 Speaking Engagements

Speaking is one of my passions, and one I would like to pursue more of in 2016. I have several presentations already lined up, but would love your help! If you belong to any groups or associations that welcome interactive presentations on incorporating healthy shifts in daily habits, would you connect me? You can find more details on my Speaking page.

Here are my favorite speaking engagements from 2015.

By the way, my favorite and most exciting take-away from Moms Rock was meeting Tom Butler at Fox 9, as I shared my favorite ways to bake healthier treats.

Collaborations

As the saying goes, “I get by with a little help from my friends”. Here are some of the amazing collaborations I have been lucky to have this past year. I would love to not only continue collaborating with these amazing trail-blazers, but would also like to explore possible joint venture opportunities. Stay tuned for one in January 2016.

Top 3 Gym-Free Fitness Channels

Exercise is a critical part of feeling good, and it has certainly been an amazing stress-reliever for me. You already know that I am a big proponent of gym-free fitness, but if you don’t follow me on social media, you may not know which channels I love. For your convenience, I am linking directly to their YouTube feed. Choose your favorite, or enjoy all 3!

  1. Fitness Blender (weights and HIIT)
  2. Superherofitness TV with Keaira LaShae (dance and music)
  3. Shelly Dose (local Minnesotan with killer HIIT, with or without weights)

Best Weight Loss Books

To become an expert, a person must read at least 100 books on a particular subject. What you may not know about me is I’m a voracious reader, and regularly read 6 books every month since I was 10 years old. I combine my love for the written word with my passion for health by reviewing health books on Amazon. Some are popular titles like Wheat Belly (meh) and others are lesser-known but powerful like 150 Pounds Gone Forever (awesome!)

My favorites are listed in order of my enjoyment on the National Resources page. Note: The books are not all written in 2015.

New for 2016

This Thanksgiving, I launched a brand new 6-week program called the Hot for the Holidays challenge. It was my first time doing a challenge, and I have much yet to learn. The challenge involved loads of short videos and plenty of opportunities to connect and ask questions.

My first group will have lifetime access to this challenge, which will run two times a year (November 25-January 2 and May 1-31). Want to get on the wait list for the next challenge? Join HERE.

Even though I am a motivational speaker, presenting via video has never been one of my strengths. There is a different energy involved in live presentations that video cannot replace. However, I enjoyed shooting the videos, and my challengers gave great feedback. Here is a sample of one of the videos.

I am also excited to announce that I will launch a group health coaching program called RELEASE in March 2016. This program includes the best of my private health coaching program, but also includes training calls and group accountability. I am still working out the details of how this program will run. If you want to improve your health and ditch those diets that never seem to stick, all you have to do is set up a FREE Discovery call with me.

This Discovery call is calorie-free, risk-free, and you are guaranteed to get 2-3 specific action steps that will propel you towards a healthier life. There is still time to get private health coaching NOW, before the group program launches in March. Book your free call today. I can’t wait to learn more about YOU.

And, that, my friends is a wrap! Thank you for joining me in 2015, and I hope to connect with more of you in 2016. As a former fat girl turned motivational speaker and accidental health coach, my only goal is to help you find a program that fits your current lifestyle while allowing you to feel as amazing and incredible as I know you are.

Here’s to an abundant and healthy 2016 for all!

Jenn
