Your Top Weight Loss Questions Answered

top weight loss questions

As a health coach and motivational speaker, women frequently ask me how I lost 100 pounds AND kept it off. The answer isn’t short, but it IS simple. Here are answers to other frequently asked questions. You may also view my interviews on this page.

Question 1:“I’m already so busy! How can I fit exercise into my already crazy life?”

One of the easiest ways to incorporate exercise into your busy day is to find 5-10 minute opportunities throughout your day. Ten minute workouts 3-4 times a day can add up to significant results.

For instance, when you go to work, park farther away so you have to walk for 5 minutes to and 5 minutes from your car. That’s 10 minutes. You have 10 minutes in your day, right? Depending on what floor you work on, take the stairs going to work, leaving work, and when taking a lunch break.

During your lunch break, devote 10 minutes to walking outside, in the halls, etc. You could also incorporate an energetic walk during your afternoon break which will boost your energy and mental focus – no more afternoon slump for you! You can find out more how to incorporate movement throughout your day with this blog post.

Question 2:I have tried every diet, and I exercise several times a week. Why can’t I lose weight and keep it off?”

There is nothing more frustrating than working hard, and NOT getting results. I understand, because it took me over a year to lose 100 pounds. As you get closer to your goal weight, you start to slack on the habits you have worked so hard for. It is human nature. I know I did.

[bctt tweet=”The problem is most diets are set up to fail. Here is the solution.”]

The solution is to track your progress. Let me tell you about Judy.

Judy was eating a healthy diet, but was not happy with her weight. I showed her how to measure her portions, and she was able to drop 10 pounds in one month. Because she was still eating the foods she loved, she did not feel deprived.

As a result of these strategies, Judy bought a new dress and had a night out on the town! She didn’t compare herself to her friends and felt as amazing as she looked.

These two ideas, combined with other strategies I teach that fit into your life, will help you achieve the body and health you desire. Even the most successful folks who lost weight and kept it off agree that the most important choice they ever made was to take the first step.

  1. I’ve found that doing simple side bends while I’m waiting in line is helpful (and with two kids involved in LOTS of activities, I wait around a lot). Sometimes I also just put on some CDs and dance around the house with my kids to, as they say “the oldies” music!

    1. Hi, Tisha!
Side bends are a great idea. That’s one I hadn’t heard before.
I love impromptu dance parties with the kids, whether to “oldies” or newbies 😀
      Thanks for commenting.
