The Happy and Healthy Woman giveaway is the best health giveaway in Minneapolis to get you strong, confident and connected.

The secret of looking and feeling younger has nothing to do with your skin. Hear me out here. My friend, Janice Novak, introduced me to the idea of how improving your posture can make you radiate health, vitality, and confidence.
In today’s iHunch world, where most of us hover anxiously over one or more devices, it doesn’t take much imagination to see how the curve of our necks and backs are hurting us in the long run. As someone who had spine surgery a decade ago, I am especially interested in ways to improve not just my posture, but also reduce my risk of re-injury.
Janice has generously donated her Posture Get it Straight complete package, which is worth $40. This powerful package shows you how to:
- Instantly lose an inch or more from middle
- Prevent and get rid of back and neck pain
- Strengthen your abdominals
- Improve athletic performance
- Decrease chance of injury
- Improve breathing, circulation & digestion
- Radiate health, vitality and confidence
As a person who frequents many local networking groups, I have recently been exposed to different perspectives on mind, body and spirit services. I don’t consider myself a very spiritual person; however, I credit the power of faith for many great achievements in my family.
I recently connected with Mary Welch, who offers Serendipity Circles for women to connect and grow. As women, we feel the need to connect powerfully with other women, and benefit from each other’s wisdom. I was thrilled when she agreed to donate her Waking Up package, valued at $97, to my Happy Healthy Woman giveaway.
This package provides:
- All the elements you need to support you on your journey to raising your consciousness and staying awake
- Inspiring insights from the wisdom within the books, and the reflective questions in the workbook will allow your personal inner wisdom to rise up.
- A live coaching call with Mary that will bring you greater clarity and enthusiasm for taking your next step on your life journey!
I have talked with Mary, and she is a beautiful, genuine and fascinating person who will help you wake up to your potential. You can also connect with her on Facebook.
Part of being a happy and healthy woman has nothing to do with how you eat and how you move. You also want to make an impact in the world and bring your best self to both your career and your family. An important element of this is leadership.
Some of you may not know that I hold a Masters of Arts in Leadership degree from Augsburg College. I cannot say that I am a fabulous leader, but I am fascinated by the many ways to support and serve my clients and audience through active listening, careful analysis and firm decision-making. One of my best classes was learning the fine art of negotiation!
Local best-selling author and keynote speaker, Kristen Brown, is an expert in maximizing your productivity to show up as the leader you are. She and I have known each other for several years, and I am honored to say she has donated her powerful Daily Rise Power pack to this giveaway. Kristen became an entrepreneur after she suddenly lost her young and athletic husband, leaving her widowed with a young baby. Today, she is a leader and mentor to many folks in the Twin Cities (myself included).
The Daily Rise is an easy-to-carry, little book to help you shift your mindset to embrace leadership. You will reflect on your daily actions to ensure that you take the right steps to reach your goals, and is valued at $20.
I am a big believer in the power of snacks. Especially tasty, well-balanced snacks that are #Kind to your health. If you have ever attended one of my presentations, you know that I frequently bring a box of Kind bars to share with the audience.
The reason for this is simple- Kind bars helped me lose weight and they can help you lose weight, too.
What you may not know is Kind is much more than just a nut-laden creation. Stacy Klone of Kitchenwerks generously donated three varieties of nut-free Kind bars to this giveaway. The three varieties are Cherry Apple Chia, Mango Apple Chia, and Pineapple Banana Kale Spinach.
If you’re not familiar with chia seeds, they are a great vegan source of healthy Omega-3s. Plus, they can be used as an egg substitute in many baking recipes.
These tasty bars are gluten-free (like all of Kind products), have no added sugar or GMOs. Plus, they are entirely made of fruit and veggies. Their protein content is a bit lower than most Kind bars, but they can be a tasty addition to either your snacks or even your salads.
Check out this lovely recipe idea from Stacy.
Combine the following in a bowl and drizzle with mocha balsamic and a splash of extra virgin olive oil:
2 cups field greens
1 ounce gorgonzola, crumbles
1 ounce sliced almonds
1/2 Cherry Apple pressed bars, diced small
By the way, Stacy is an amazing weight loss success story herself who offers offers ShopSMARTER grocery tours, organizing service, and cooking classes through her company, Kitchenwerks. You can connect with her on Facebook.
Nothing says strength as much as a woman who knows how to take care of herself. By take care of herself, I mean one who can kick some serious heiny!
In college, I worked my way up to green belt in Shotokan karate. I started with a college-level class, then joined a college club before retiring my gui. However, it is especially important that I took karate when I was at my highest weight of 275 pounds. At the time, I had no interest in losing weight. I did have plenty of interest in entering a discipline that allowed me to learn and grow. It was also some of the best exercise I ever had!
You know how much I advocate at home fitness. Sometimes, you just need to take a more challenging fitness route. Martial arts are the perfect way to accomplish this. Not only do you get to challenge yourself with even more complicated moves (called kata), but you also get to experiment with sparring, knowing your own strength and trying out some weapons.
In today’s violent world, being able to take your safety into your own hands is a powerful expression of your strength, confidence, and ultimately your own health.
I met Ben Thomas of Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios at Moms Rock Expo last year. He offered me one month of free lessons. I had a blast! The class sizes are the smallest of any studio I’ve joined, and Ben himself has a knack for challenging you without overwhelming you. Oh, and my daughter liked him a lot, too.
Ben offered the same special to all of my friends here at Weightless as part of this best health giveaway. You could win one month of free group lessons, 4 private lessons, and even a uniform and belt.
Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios is a part of a family of martial arts companies formed with one goal in mind – to provide “Z-Ultimate” martial arts experience for students and their families by providing life changing and character building experiences through world-class personalized martial arts instruction.
Connect with Ben on Facebook to keep up on events at his studio.

Have you ever felt confident and beautiful, only to get discouraged by the clothes in your closet? I know I have! Part of feeling happy with yourself is knowing that you look darn good in your clothes. It doesn’t matter what you current size is- most of us women still struggle with putting together a look that is professional and yet comfortable while still allowing us to express ourselves creatively.
Char Dobbs of Char Style and Image was kind enough to share some of her stylish tips for my audience several years ago. Her personal sense of style and mission have always inspired me, so I invited her to join this giveaway.
Char lovingly donated two pair of tickets to her exclusive Wine & Wardrobe event. This event, which is valued at $110, is designed exclusively for powerhouse women, who are passionate about business and life, to connect, enjoy a glass of wine, and take-in tailored fashion tips for her busy life. Did I mention that it is invite-only?
Bring your girlfriend, and power up both of your styles. Don’t forget to connect with Char on Facebook.
The missing piece of most health programs is what to do AFTER you’ve lost weight. Most folks work hard on weight loss under the misconception that they can return to their previous habits once they have reached goal.
You don’t need another accountability group that will disappear from Facebook in 7 days. What might be helpful is looking to the example of a community of people who have not only lost weight, but successfully maintained that loss for years.
I am happy to say that I have been a part of the Half Size Me community, where we talk about exactly that. Heather Robertson has lost a total of 170 pounds, and continues to inspire all with her award-winning podcast and inspirational Facebook and Instagram messages.
She and I connected a while back, and she even interviewed me for her new book, the Art of Weight Maintenance. Valued at $12.99, this book is one of the only resources I have found in my years of weight loss that talk specifically about maintaining your weight, with hours of interviews from people who have done it.
She happily donated a copy of this book for me to share with you in this giveaway. Note: My community can also purchase this book for a special discount. Just join my mailing list to learn more.
Check out Heather’s community on Facebook!
And, don’t forget, you also get the chance to win FREE health coaching with me! This is an offer that is going away as I prepare to launch my new group coaching program.
